Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters is holding its annual Chanukah Camp for boys and girls between the ages of seven and fourteen who are associated with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters or are a part of the Jewish community within the greater Los Angeles area. We are hiring Cabin Counselors, Kitchen Staff and Specialists that can teach the following: Arts and Crafts; Drama; Judaica; Archery; Music/Dance; Team Building; Sports and Gardening. Staff members must be available to stay at the camp from December 27th (Saturday evening) – through 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. In addition to room and board for the week, staff members will receive $235 for our four-day Chanukah Camp. Chanukah camp will be held at Camp Max Straus, which is located in the Verdugo Mountains in the Glendale-Pasadena area just north of Los Angeles. Camp Max Straus maintains a high staff to camper ratio. Cabin groups consist of ten children and two counselors. Additionally, one to two specialists teach each of the program areas. Camp Max Straus is accredited by the American Camp Association and has been providing a quality camping experience for the children of the greater Los Angeles area since 1938.
