Our Fall 2016 Executive Board is comprised of a core group of dedicated, hard working students whose goal is to increase student engagement and foster a vibrant Jewish life on campus.

Elyssa Melmet

President | emelmet@uci.edu

Elyssa Melmet is a 4th year, double majoring in Psychology & Social Behavior (PSB) and Criminology, Law, & Society (CLS). This is her second term on the student executive board and she is glad to be back with her Hillel family for the 2016-2017 academic year.  She is excited to be a part of the UCI’s growing Jewish community and loves making UCI a warm and welcoming environment for all new Jewish students. This past summer Elyssa went on Birthright with her fellow Hillel students from UCI, Chapman, Fullerton, and UC Davis. When Elyssa isn’t at Hillel, she can be found around campus with her Pi Beta Phi sisters. Elyssa is also the vice president of Rho Lambda. If you happen to see her around campus or at an event, make sure to introduce yourself and say hi!

Brigit Gruzman

Vice President | bgruzman@uci.edu

Brigit Gruzman is a 4th year, majoring in Psychology & Social Behavior (PSB).  This is her third term on the student executive board and she is excited to be back with her Hillel family. If Brigit can’t be found at Hillel, then she is probably hanging out with her sisters from Gamma Phi Beta. This past summer Brigit went on Birthright with fellow Hillel students from UCI, Chapman, Fullerton, and UC Davis. She is also an active member with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Brigit loves learning new languages, so if you see her around campus just be yourself and say hi…maybe even in another language!

Eliana Kopley

Social Programming Chair | ekopley@uci.edu

Eliana Kopley is a 3rd year, majoring in Public Health. She has been an active contributor to Hillel and this year is the Social Action Chairperson on the Hillel student executive board.  As one of two 2016-2017 UCI Hillel engagement interns, Eliana has begun reaching out to potential new Hillel members.  Eliana enjoys spin and dance classes, as well time with her bunny Satchmo. She is happy to welcome you to UCI Hillel, with coffee and dessert!

Maddi Hart

Israel and Politics | Mhart@uci.edu

Maddi is a 4th year, double majoring in Psychology and German Studies. She can be found working at the Study Abroad Center on campus. She hopes that both new and returning students are able to settle in and find their niche in the UCI and Jewish community by getting involved in campus activities. She is passionate about Middle Eastern politics and loves to engage in friendly debates. Come stop by a Hillel event and say hi!
